Description: Unicellular, solitary organisms to 14 &m long and 10 &m wide. Protoplasm contained in a closed, obovoid lorica, with small pores and elevated on a style 10-15 &m long with small basal attachment disk. Cytoplasm amoeboid with fine rhizopodial filaments projecting though the lorica pores. Cells with single nucleus and four to six discoid chloroplasts; stigma and pyrenoid absent but one or two contractile vacuoles present. Asexual reproduction by division of the protoplasm. Stipitoporos epiphytic on Oedogonium in freshwater; reported only from Europe.
