Original publication and holotype designation: Rampi, L. (1943). Su qualche altra Peridinea nuova o rara delle acque di Sanremo. Atti della Società Italiana di Scienze Naturali e del Museo Civico di Storia Naturale di Milano 82(2): 151-157.

Description: Cell roundish, minute, slightly dorso-ventrally compressed. Both hemithecae of similar size. Non-indented cingulum in equatorial position, deprived of lists; anterior short sulcus, also without lists. Thecal surface plates smooth, showing very few small pores, except plates in the precingular, postcingular and antapical series, which display a unique very large pore surrounded by a ring.
