Nomenclatural notes
According to Wynne (2019), Torularia is a valid, legitimate name to be lectotypified by Torularia dillenii (Bory) Bonnemaison. Therefore, this generic name has priority over Atrophycus Necchi et Rossignolo (in Rossignolo et al. 2017). Earlier, Rossignolo et al. (2017) proposed Arthrophycus for their genus Setacea Necchi et Rossignolo nom. inval. (Rossignolo and Necchi 2016). The generitype of Tortularia is Torularia atra (Hudson) M.J. Wynne, based on Conferva atra Hudson. - (16 May 2019) - M.D. Guiry
