Description: Irregularly shaped sarcinoid thallus, composed of branched uniseriate, filaments which become multiseriate, and/or fan-shaped, or with lobed sections. Cells globular, or cubic-shaped to rectangular, containing a single stellate chloroplast with a central pyrenoid. It differs from other prasiolacean algal genera by its rbcL and tufA sequences.
