Description: Cells solitary; frustules in girdle view rectangular. Valve surface generally flat, in the middle depressed in two apically oriented groves. Valves elliptic to linear-elliptic. Raphe straight, external central endings simple, apical endings simple terminate in subpolar position. Axial area not separated from the central area, forming a large lanceolate area. Transapical striae uniseriate, composed of apically oriented slit-like areolae.
