Taxonomic note
"This species was briefly described by J. Agardh (1898: 36) on a specimen collected at Menorca (the Balearic Islands, Spain) held in Rodríguez y Femenías Herbarium. It was quoted by De Toni [1900: 624, with the indication "(nomen)"] and by Preda (1908: 281) with reference to the only record by Agardh (op. cit.). Afterwards, it was no more reported. Kylin (1924: 96), listed it among species inquirendae, because he couldn't well study the two specimens held in Agardh's Herbarium. Athanasiadis (2016: 1149) listed it among incertae sedis of Delesseriaceae. It's noteworthy that both Wynne (2013: 138) and M.D. Guiry in Guiry & Guiry (2023) consider it as a taxonomically accepted species." (Cormaci & al. 2023: 483). - (06 December 2023) - M.D. Guiry
