Type locality: on Atlantic Ocean side of West Summerland Key, Florida Keys (Gallagher & Humm 1983: 261). Holotype: May 1978; fossil coral-limestone platform; epiphytic on Ceramium nitens, on old gorgonian soft corals and loggerhead songes at 1-2 m depth. USNM US 77908 (Gallagher & Humm 1983: 261).
