Lectotype locality: Rottnest Island, Western Australia (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 596). Holotype: TCD 69A (De Clerck 2003: 176). Notes: Silva et al. (1996) recommend consulting Womersley (1967: 210) for more information on the lectotype of this species.
Origin of species name
Participle (Latin), rooting, putting forth aerial roots (Stearn 1973).
