Type locality: 'In mari Australi' [Nootka Sound (Vancouver Island), British Columbia, Canada or Monterey, California, USA] (Gabrielson 2008: 91, 96). Lectotype: T. Haenke; 1791; LD 22892 (bottom, single specimen) (Gabrielson 2008: 96). Notes: Isotype: LD 22892 (upper two specimens) and specimens in the packet on the same sheet.
