This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Melobesia darwinii Harvey.

Type Information
Notes: Wilks & Woelkerling (1991: 529) note that the type is apparently missing. The specimen from King George Sound, Western Australia, upon which Harvey (1849) based the protologue of Melobesi darwinii could not be found. The status and disposition is in doubt, but from the description it is almost certainly not a Melobesia.
