Type locality: Florida Keys, USA; (LaJeunesse et al. 2012: 1383) Holotype: [originally isolated in mid-1970s by David A.Schoenberg]; from the brown sea anemone Aiptasia sp.; Provasoli-Guillard National Center for Marine Algae and Microbiota (East Boothbay, Maine, USA); cryopreserved culture strain CCMP 2460 (LaJeunesse et al. 2012: 1383)
