Type locality: [Castle Point] Island Bay, near Wellington, North Islands New Zealand (Woelkerling & al. 2005: 115). Type: Setchell; vi.1904; uppermost sublittoral zone, on Caulerpa sedoides. TRH A15-786 (Woelkerling & al. 2005: 115).
