Adjective (Latin), dichotomous, having divisions always in pairs (Stearn 1983).

Habitat note
Attached to rocky substrata at a depth of 15-20 m (Berecibar et al. 2009: 221), although reported from water as shallow as 1 m in Greece (see photograph). - (22 March 2010) - G.M. Guiry
