Type locality: Braithwaite Bay, I. Soccoro, Is. Revilla Gigedo, Mexico (Taylor 1945: 81, 82). Holotype: W.R. Taylor no. 34-31; 2 Jan. 1934; common on rocks. Hancock Foundation (Taylor 1945: 81, 82). Notes: No. 34-31 (plurangial, TYPE), no. 34-42(sporangial), collected 2 January 1934. Ibid., dredged from 37 metres’ depth at sta. 132 near Braithwaite Bay, no. 34-42A (sporangial), 2 January 1934.
