Type Species
This is the type species (holotype) of the genus Ralfsia.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Ralfsia fungiformis (Gunnerus) Setchell & N.L.Gardner.

Basionym
Zonaria deusta C.Agardh

Type Information
Type locality: "ad saxa in mari Islandico" [Iceland]; (Agardh 1817: 40)
