Type Information
Type locality: "littora Oceani septentrionalis et mari mediterranei" [seashores of the North Ocean and the Mediterranean]; (Gmelin 1768: 183) Notes: Lectotype (desingated by Woelkering et al. 2019: 1): Gmelin (1768: pl. XXIII) in the absence of specimens. Epitype (desingated by Woelkering et al. 2019: 1): PC0474619 (Trieste, Italy) as the epitype ( Woelkering et al.2019: fig. 2).
