Type locality: "Old Cathedral of Coimbra, Almedina, Coimbra, 40°12' 32" N, 8°25' 38'W"; (Soares, F. & al. 2019: 80) Holotype: 22 November, 2016; limestone walls of one of the chapels of the Cathedral; COI; 00094076 (Soares, F. & al. 2019: 80) Notes: Reference strain:—ULC467 (deposited at BCCM/ULC culture collection, Liège, Belgium)=DSM109598 (deposited at DSMZ culture collection, Leibniz, Germany).

Description
Thallus macroscopic, green; filaments long, straight, curved, sometimes loose and solitary, frequently presenting untangled arrangements forming long rope-like structures; occasionally with false branching in mature filaments. Sheaths thin, colorless, distant from the trichomes, closed at the ends, opened after hormogonia release. Trichomes sometimes with exceeding sheath, distinctly constricted at the cross walls; cells usually rectangular, barrel- shape, isodiametric or longer than wide, 1.3–1.7 micrometers long, 0.7–1.5 micrometers wide; apical cells usually rounded to slightly conical,
