Chamberlain & Irvine (1994: 183) tentiatively assign this species to Lithothamnion glaciale; Athansiadis (2016: 217) also questions its inclusion.
This is a marine species.
Type locality: Berwick[-on-Tweed], England (Woelkerling et al. 2005: 364). Notes: Syntype at TRH B20-2673 (Woelkering et al. 2005: 365).
