Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Cryptopleura ramosa (Hudson) L.Newton.

Type Information
Syntype localities: "India orientalis, et Haruici [Harwich, Essex, England]"; (Silva & al. 1996: 900) Notes: According to Silva, Basson & Moe (1996: 900), the basis for "India orientalis" is unknown as this species does not occur in the Indian Ocean.
