Type locality: "Water tank, Schlieren, Switzerland."; (Pröschlod & Darienko 2020: 187) Holotype: freshwater pond; SAG; 251–2 cryopreserved in metabolically inactive state (Pröschlod & Darienko 2020: 187) Notes: "Differs from morphologically similar Choricystis species by genetic signatures in SSU and ITS sequences (GenBank: MT423986) and ITS-2 Barcode: BC3 in Fig. 5."
