Nomenclatural note
According to Silva et al. (1996: 241), the conspecificity of Jania affinis and Cheilosporum pulchellum was noted by Johansen & Womersley (1994: 619) but since the two names have equal priority, those authors should have used the former name rather than proposing a new combination. - (27 April 2009) - G.M.
