Syntype localities: S:t Lawrencebay, S:t Lawrence-ön, på båda ställena ymnig; något sällskaplig inom sublitoralregionen; med sporangier. [St. Lawrence Bay St. Lawrence Island, in both places abundant, somewhat gregarious in sublitoral zone, with sporangia.] (Kjellman 1889: 46).
