Taxonomic note
Gabrielson et al. (2018) based on DNA sequencing of type material of L. onkodes f. pachydermum Foslie, basionym of P. pachydermum (Foslie) Foslie, concluded that P. pachydermum is conspecific with P. antillarum (Foslie) Foslie. Earlier, Maneveldt & Keats (2014), based on a morpho-anatomical study of type material of both taxa, concluded that P. antillarum (Foslie) Foslie was a heterotypic synonym of P. onkodes, a result not supported by the DNA sequence data.. - (31 December 2014)
