General environment
This is a marine species.

Habitat
Plants grow subtidally and have been collected from between 5 and 20 m depths, generally on limestone. Found growing abundantly on isolated limestone debris in sand/seagrass flats at 8-10m depths (Kraft & Min-Thein 1983: 172).
