Type locality: "ad novam Hollandiam" (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 328). Holotype: Desfontaines; Herb. Agardh, LD 25599 (Womersley 1994: 337). Notes: Isotype in PC.

Adjective (Latin), with opposite leaves.
