Habitat note
"This is the most common species of Trentepohlia in tropical and subtropical regions, where it forms bright orange or greenish orange tufts on many different substrata; most frequent on tree bark, but also reported from leaves, fruits, rocks, concrete walls, plastic surfaces and soil. Reported from tropical greenhouses of European botanical gardens, where it was introduced with tropical plants; its occurrence in the field in Europe, however, is not documented."
