Type locality: Western Australia; (Silva & al. 1996: 401) (Womersley 1998: 389) Notes: Womersley (1998: 389) notes that no specimen is located in MEL and that there are isotypes located in TCD and LD (20753).

Adjective (Latin), covered with somewhat downy hairs.

General Environment
This is a marine species.

Habitat
A common epiphyte on Posidonia, less frequently found on Amphibolis (Womersley 1978: 217).
