This is a marine species.
Essentially a deep water (or shaded) species on rough-water coasts (Womersley 2003: 167).
Type locality: Western Australia (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 466). Type: Preiss 2618; MEL 503820 (Womersley 2003: 167). Notes: Type: fragment?, 5-6 cm high, tetrasporangial (Womersley, 2003).
