This is the type species (holotype) of the genus Sarcomenia.
Status of name
This name is of an entity that is currently accepted taxonomically.
Type locality: Western Australia (Silva & al. 1996: 466). Type: Preiss 2618; MEL 503820 (Womersley 2003: 167). Notes: Type: fragment?, 5-6 cm high, tetrasporangial (Womersley, 2003).
