Fossil im Kreidemergeln van Oman, lebend bei Cuxhaven in der Nordsee, bei Tjorn im Cattegat und bei Vera Cruz im Weltmeere (Silva 1996-to date). Notes: Ehrenberg's original localities: fossil from Oran, Africa; recent from Cuxhaven, North Sea; recent from Tjorn, Kattegat; epiphytic from Veracruz, Mexico. Typification: see Fryxell & Hasle (1972/1973).
