Replaced name: Staurastrum iversenii var. americanum A.M.Scott et Grönblad 1957: 39, pl. 19: figs 14,15. Type: Scott & Grönblad 1957, pl. 19: fig. 14. "As this taxon should not be considered a variety of S. iversenii we prefer to raise its rank to species level. The name of S. americanum already being occupied (Smith 1922, p. 351), we herewith label it with the new name S. pseudolevanderi." (Coesel & Joosten 1996: 14). - (06 December 2020) - M.D. Guiry
