Although this species is currently known as Myriogramme heterocarpum (Chauvin ex Duby) Ernst & Feldmann, this combination was not made by Ernst & Feldmann (1957). Guiry (1997) suggests consulting Maggs & Hommersand (1993) on the synonymy between Drachiella heterocarpa and Myriogramme heterocarpum.
