Holotype: Cunha 1913, pl. 10, fig. 3: Fig. 4j (Lukomska-Kowalczyk et al., 2020) (epitype) (Lukomska-Kowalczyk et al. 2020: 1146). Notes: GenBank MN149572. Representative locality: Freshwater, Oracze, farm pond (53°52'36.6"N, 22°20'41.2"E).

Noun (Latin), A giant (Stearn 1973).
