Asterosiphon dichotomus as used by Rieth (Monatsber. Deutsch. Akad. Wissenschaften Berlin 4: 519. 1962) was not accepted by the author and thus not validly published; in a subsequent use (Limnologica 1(3): 197. 1962) Rieth accepted the name but because the basionym was not cited completely the combination still was not validly published. - (04 June 2019) - Salvador Valenzuela Miranda
