Type locality: Cornwall, England (Womersley 1987: 267). Type: Hudson; BM or lost? (Womersley 1987: 267).

Origin of species name
Adjective (Latin), villous, shaggy with farily long soft straight not interwoven ascending hairs (Stearn 1985).

Distributional notes
Found in the vicinity of the Port Stanvac Oil Refinery in South Australia (Womersley, 1987: 267) and thought to have been introduced.
