Taxonomic note
According to Millar & Prud'homme van Reine (2005; 537), the two specimens on the type sheet are small, not well pressed, and thus difficult to identify with certainty. However, they note that Valet (1966, 1967) considered the specimen on the left to be the correct type specimen and to be conspecific with D. intermedia Weber-van Bosse and the specimen on the right to be a juvenile form of D. cavernosa (Forsskål) Borgesen. - (11 May 2006) - G.M. Guiry
