Nomenclatural note
"At present a very confused situation exists in the distinction between this species, H. milneri MURRAY et WHITTING, H. helenae MURRAY et WHITTING, and to a lesser extent, H. dolon MURRAY et WHITTING. The difficulty appears to be largely due to uncertainty regarding the degrees of variability in cell size and in girdle and list characteristics (phenotypic plasticity) and in particular, those changes accompanying increased maturity of the list structures."
