Type locality: Kashiwa-jima Island, Otsuki, Kochi, Japan (32º46'22N, 132º37'31E); (Nishimura et al. 2014: 509) Holotype: September 22nd, 2007; epiphyte on macroalga; TNS; TNS-AL-56993a (permanent slide mounted from clonal strain KW070922_1) (Nishimura et al. 2014: 509) Notes: Isotypes: SEM stub (TNS-AL-56993ss) and glutaraldehyde fixed cells in a tube (TNS-AL-56993m) from clonal strain KW070922_1.
