The type species (lectotype) of the genus Liagora is Liagora viscida (Forsskål) C.Agardh.

This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Ganonema farinosum (J.V.Lamouroux) K.-C.Fan & Y.-C.Wang
Type information
Syntype localities: "Hab. ad littora Florida; et insulas Bermudas" [Florida and Bermuda] (Howe 1920: 104). Lectotype: LD 32368 (Abbott 1990: fig. 28). Notes: Lectotype locality: Florida (Abbott 1990).

Adjective (Latin), corymbose (Stearn 1973).
