This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Schizoseris perriniae (A.H.S.Lucas) Womersley.

Lucas.; January 1928; Growing on rocky bottom at 4-8 fathoms; Herb. Lucas (currently in NSW); (Womersley 2003: 117) Notes: Iso [lecto]types in Herb. Lucas (currently in NSW) and iso[lecto]types (?) in AD (A12241, A49609).
