Description: Cell, motile or non-motile; motile stage predominant. Motile call, naked, unicellular flagellate, spherical to ovoid, with two laterally inserted unequal flagella, with single yellowish brown chloroplast; stigma absent; propagation by means of binary division in non-motile stage. 18S rRNA and rbcL genes distinctive. Sexual reproduction unknown.
