Description: Thallus to 15 cm, laterally branched; axes of elongate multinucleate cells each bearing a whorl of curved di-, tri- or subdichotomously branched determinate branchlets, lower axes rhizoidally corticated. Procarps on short fertile branches at apex of lateral axes. Carpogonial branches 4-celled, auxiliary cell cut off from supporting cell incorporated into fusion cell bearing apical gonimolobes producing globose carposporangia surrounded by involucre of curved branchlets. Spermatangia in heads, adaxial on branchlets. Tetrasporangia on cells of branchlets, tetrahedrally divided.
