Nomenclatural note
First introduced in Zanardini (1843: 45) as "Aglaophyllum ? proliferum nov. sp. Fu raccolto dal Sandri nelle acque di Zara." No description. "This species was briefly described by Frauenfeld (1855:58) from Primo%u0161ten (Croatia) based on "A. proliferum" Zanardini nomen nudum previously published with no description from the same locality by Zanardini (1843: 45). Afterwards, this species not even cited in De Toni's Sylloge Algarum, was no more recorded." (Cormaci & al. 2023: 491-2). - (15 November 2017) - M.D. Guiry
