Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Pugetia is Pugetia fragilissima Kylin.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Judithia delicatissima (R.E.Norris) D'Archino & Showe M.Lin.

Clarkston & Saunders (2012: 50) note that unpublished molecular data indicate that P. delicatula sensu Norris is in fact three species, none of which groups with P. fragilissima (R. D'Archino, personal communication). - (27 February 2012) - G.M. Guiry
