Conservational notes
"S[accharina] japonica, with a distribution area limited to Japan, China and Pacific coast of Russia, was accidentally introduced in the Mediterranean Sea (Thau Lagoon, France) in 1984 by mollusc culture (Cormaci et al., 2004, as L. japonica). To be noted that recently no specimens of this species was recorded in the above Lagoon (Verlaque, 2001)." (Cormaci et al. 2012: 400). See also Verlaque et al.
