Taxonomic note
Womersley (1987: 187) pointed out that the only difference between the forma verticillata and the nominate forma was the distance between the whorl branchlets, which could only be an environmental response, and thus the forms have no taxonomic value. - (28 June 2012) - M.D. Guiry
