Syntype localities: Clew Bay and Achill Sound, Co. Mayo, Ireland (Cotton 1912: 96, 126). Type: "on firm peat, near extreme high-water mark". BM (Cotton 1912: 126). Notes: Ireland: Clare Island (INA). Type specimen (in BM) corresponds to Cotton's (1912) pl. VI, fig. 1 (Wynne & Magne, 1991: 59).
