Adjective (Latin), south, southern (Stearn 1973).

Type locality: Cape Saunders, Otago Peninsula, New Zealand (45º52.786'S, 170º44.341'E) (D'Archino et al. 2012: 453). Holotype: R. D'Archino; December 2008; 15-20 m. WELT A024360 (D'Archino et al. 2012: 453). Notes: Isotype: WELT A031201.
