Type locality: Betsy Cove, Kerguelen Island (Woelkerling 1998: 330). Holotype: Nauman; Gazelle Exp. 1874-1875 [= German Transit of Venus Expedition 1874-1876]; 1874-1875; no habitat data on type. TRH TRH B2-1679; includes slides 1061-1063 (Woelkerling et al. 2005: 237). Notes: Holotype fragment: PC, unnumbered, General Herbarium box collection (non-fossil; filed in non-geniculate coralline type collections cabinet under basionym).
