Type locality: Maasö, Norway (Lindstrom & Cole 1992: 1362). Lectotype: F.R. Kjellman; July-August 1876; UPS (Lindstrom & Cole 1992: 1362).
Origin of species name
Adjective (Latin), saturn-red, flame-scarlet; literally, ‘painted with red lead’ (Stearn 1973).
