Taxonomic note
The status of this entity is uncertain. According to Maggs & Hommersand (1993: 228), British specimens are “misidentifications of other species”. However, the type is British, from Torquay, South Devon, but no re-examination of the type seems to have been undertaken (M.D. Guiry, 15 June 2002) to enable proper synonymy. Wynne (2014: 210) maintains the entity as a taxonomically valid species. - (11 May 2006) - G.M. Guiry
